- Mexico City
Located at Bosques de las Lomas neighborhood this residential complex provides departments and services with the highest standards and quality within the western area of the city.
Based on an irregular floor the greatest challenge was to connect large spaces that took advantage of the natural light provided by the large windows. Also another concern was to host a program including: living, dining, family room, main bedroom with dressing room and bathroom and two children's bedroom, not to be left the kitchen and service area. The client wanted the project to be a self-expression of his preference to use different textures and materials, as well as to offer a variety of environments.
In response to these needs it landed a layout that could exploit the facade by placing the social area along the windows. By creating a solid marbled element to frame the main entrance, which also raises as a lobby from the elevators, the space was endowed with privacy and homelike comfort. The 30m2 terrace ahead hosts a privileged view of the forest Ajusco and welcomes the user with a breathtaking first impression. As a distinctive feature the lobby's indoor deck floor surface becomes one by extending itself to the outdoors and surrounding the social area while maintaining neutral textures and finely harmonized shades of color.
In contrast the dining room stands out roughly textured using apparent red brick turning into a focal point of family life. Although it might seem out of line, it keeps the same language by using the same floor and nuances of light and shadow.
The lobby between the bedrooms is a representative example of the diversity of textures and luminous details along the house. It was merely developed to separate the social and intimate area with a sliding door recalling the same one used at the elevator for security and privacy.
Due to a special request the master bedroom has a more classic look achieved with moldings and high baseboards, combined with a herringbone wooden floor that reflects the personality of the inhabitants - a closet playing with mirror reflections where the user becomes the center of attention and turns into an entrance court to the bathroom with a forest green marble that gives a touch of eccentricity to the project.
