The Faculty of Biosciences, Pharmacy and Psychology of Leipzig University has been renovating its institutional buildings constructed in 1879 at its location in a neighbourhood close to the city centre step by step in recent years. The construction of new special laboratories for which there was no more place available in the old buildings now complements the ensemble. Despite the high safety requirements inside the building, it is not supposed to be insulated from the urban area but rather to seem totally natural.
