The project consists in demolish an old house and built a new one with very tight budget, preserving only the street-front façade.
Because of the chaotic context of the lot, the main idea was to turn the house inward to a widespread space. To achieve this, the ground floor was divided lengthwise placing the construction on the left side, taking the fullest possible advantage of the depth of the lot for the garden.
Special care was given to scale and perspective. Vanishing points were emphasized by using trapezoidal shapes, and varying the window modulation to obtain visual effects that underline the initial idea.
In addition, a cloudy sky printed on a canvas was placed at the rear party wall to hide the neighbor building and to dramatize the impression of spaciousness on the small lot.
The house has: living and dining-room, bedroom, study, kitchen, and bathroom in the ground floor. The master bedroom with its closet, bathroom and terrace is on the upper level.
